
Bathinda: In a significant appointment, Dr Ratan Gupta has been named the new Executive Director of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bathinda. His selection is expected to bolster the institute’s vision of delivering advanced medical care, education, and research.
Organ Donation Drive Marks First Public Engagement
Soon after assuming office, Dr Gupta participated in an Organ Donation Pledge event held on September 27. The initiative witnessed 176 doctors and patients pledging to donate their organs, underlining AIIMS Bathinda’s commitment to community health and social responsibility.
Plans for 300-Bed Trauma Centre
Dr Gupta revealed that the central government has given preliminary approval for setting up a 300-bed trauma centre at AIIMS Bathinda. A blueprint is currently being prepared and will soon be submitted for final approval. He stressed that once operational, the facility would provide round-the-clock specialised trauma care to patients in the region.
